Understanding the intricacies of wetland hydrology is critical for climate change research. Testate amoeba are effective indicators of hydrologic variation in peatlands and thus constitute a useful tool for monitoring the impacts of climate change. To explore their usefulness, the testae amoeba communities of two poor fens are compared, producing information on testate amoeba types within the Simcoe-Muskoka region.
